Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing and documenting the condition of pediatric patients in the CVICU
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitoring and interpreting critical vital signs and cardiac rhythms
• Collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members
• Preparing and updating individualized care plans
• Providing educational support to patients and families
• Participating in emergency response and resuscitation efforts
• Ensuring adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Utilizing advanced technology to deliver specialized care
• Contributing to the research and development of pediatric cardiac care
• Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
• Participating in continuous professional development and training
• Supporting a compassionate and nurturing environment for young patients
• Assisting in the transition of care for pediatric patients
• Advocating for the unique needs of pediatric CVICU patients

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the specified state
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric CVICU or related setting
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Proficiency in pediatric patient assessment and care planning
• Ability to remain composed and decisive in highstress situations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of cardiac medications and interventions for pediatric patients
• Familiarity with advanced technological equipment used in CVICU settings
• Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards in nursing
• Demonstrated dedication to pediatric patient advocacy and familycentered care
• Flexibility to work various shifts including nights and weekends
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role in a pediatric healthcare setting
• Continuous commitment to learning and professional development
• Understanding of regulatory and accrediting agency requirements for pediatric CVICU
