Our client an industryleading provider of packaging solutions is in search of a Regional Sales Manager to drive sales to both existing and prospective clients within the food industry across Michigan and Indiana. This role reporting to the Regional Office is an independent contributor position accountable for the complete sales process from prospecting to closing deals in alignment with sales targets.


Travel:

This role requires extensive travel with up to 80% of the time spent on the road. The ability to travel long distances with frequent overnight stays is essential. The remaining time will be spent in the Great Lakes Regional Office or the incumbents home office for adequate preparation and followup. Occasional weekend travel may be necessary for meetings trade shows etc. Some international travel is also required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Identify potential sales opportunities with existing customers and new prospects through customer visits lead followups and other prospecting methods.
  • Achieve territory bookings and invoiced sales goals.
  • Manage an efficient travel schedule to maximize customer contacts per trip and minimize overnight stays.
  • Provide all necessary information and documentation for sales proposals and orders.
  • Utilize resources such as CRM marketing tools and support staff to advance the sales process.
  • Maintain updated and accurate CRM data.
  • Participate in developing and executing a business plan and budget for the territory.
  • Monitor and report competitive activity in the territory.
  • Operate within the annual expense budget.
  • Attend trade shows sales meetings industry events and training sessions as directed.
  • Continuously educate oneself on industry trends and sales techniques.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree preferred; consultative sales experience required.
  • Minimum of five years experience selling capital equipment in food processing and packaging or similar manufacturingoriented sectors.
  • Current valid drivers license; ability to obtain a passport for travel.
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to read analyze and interpret technical documents.
  • Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts; ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Word Excel Teams PowerPoint Outlook); working knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds; frequent walking sitting and handeye coordination activities.
