RampD Engineer Commercial Vehicle

About the role

BYDis looking for an R&D Engineer to discuss technical solutions and details with customers and suppliers and help China R&D team finish Bus design.

The R&D department plans the sustainable product and technology roadmap for Europe and works on developing advanced full electric bus series which fulfill current and future European public transportation market needs. By cooperating with European leading suppliers the R&D department continuously upgrades design and engineering abilities for excellent product performance and quality.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

• Participate in the configuration docking technical scheme discussion data matching and function debugging of the OnBoarding systems of commercial vehicle(such as ticketing systems public transportation dispatch systems etc.);
• Discuss technical solutions and details with customers and suppliers;
• Accurately and quickly convey customer order configuration requirements to the R&D team in Shenzhen China;
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software (NX preferably) and a good understanding of 2D drawing;
• Who are excited about the public transportation and ideally have experience in a similar field e.g. with Transportation for London or a system provider in the areas of bus management system multimedia system and ticketing system CCTV;
• Can adapt to shortterm temporary business trips in the EU discuss technical solutions with customers and suppliers face to face and support order PDI debugging
• The role reports to the UK R&D Project Manager.

Ideal candidate profile:

• Bachelors/HBO degree in electrical engineering or similar;
• 12 years of electrical test engineering experience;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Chinese language would be advantageous;
• Very clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates strong judgment and problemsolving competencies;
• Excellent organization skills and ability to work well in a team setting;
• Willing to take business travel;
• CleanUKDrivers license;
• Creative mind and strong analytical skills;
• Understanding of legislation and standards;
• Prove your righttowork in the U.K. is essential.
