Job Description

Our client is an awardwinning leading brand of ambient foods. Popular by demand their products are launched across various FMCG stores throughout the UK and Europe.

Reporting into the Technical Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of QA activities from receipt to processing of raw materials into finished products.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the quality of raw materials and finished products to compliance with necessary product specifications
  • Oversee the compliance of all products throughout the factory environment including documentation and product review from Goods into Dispatch
  • Ensure all quarantine and quality order processes are completed on the internal system
  • Contribute to the delivery evaluation and continuous improvement of the manufacturing facility to provide operational effectiveness
  • Investigate and report on all nonconformances
  • Oversee internal audits ensuring the audit schedule is followed
  • Complete training with all staff to improve awareness and knowledge of food safety and quality
  • Deputise where necessary for absent members of the Technical Department including technical assistant and technical manager
  • Liaise with the Sales Department for satisfactory completion of customer samples
  • Monitor and verify to ensure hygiene standards are met all times
  • Ownership of specific quality documentation and procedures with specific regard to factory activities (Cleaning Manual Training Raw Material and Finished Product Procedures ShelfLife Analysis Physical Allergen Compliance)
  • Manage site pest control and ensure actions are closed off on time
  • Ensure all relevant samples are obtained and appropriate action is taken accordingly (customer laboratory and supplier)

    Criteria:

    • Previous experience of supervising / managing a team in a FMCG environment is essential
    • Previous experience within a QA role
    • Proven experience in third party audits
    • Excellent communication skills: ability to liaise with varying stakeholders at all levels both internal and external
