Our client is a company operating a marketplace for consumers, sellers, and content creators. It offers merchandise and content purchased for resale from vendors and those offered by thirdparty sellers.

Work Type: Onsite (Seattle, WA OR New York, NY- Hybrid)

Job Description:

• We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for a contract position. The ideal candidate has great communication skills,

• can remove roadblocks, detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites. QAE's regularly work with Developers, Product Managers and other Quality

• Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment. During the development cycle, QAEs identify use cases, create test cases, execute

• tests, and report results.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 0-2 years industry experience testing software, including website applications.

• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java and SQL is desired, but not required.

• Experience with Selenium highly desired Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment.

• Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle.

Purpose of Team

• Transitional role was under a different director but now they are going to own the testing for it.

• Will work with old QA team in regard to transferring work from old team to the new team and they will take ownership of that moving forward.

• Entire QA team is having kids and they need support.

• They absorbed a program called made for you and they need someone to handle the testing. They don't have resourcing for and need someone ASAP.

Typical Day in life

• They will do weekly regression releases on android/IOS devices

• They will run through testing and work on new feature releases

• Split between 60-70% regression testing on metrics of different devices, new feature devices and helping out with other things.

• They would like to see at least 3 4 years of experience in quality assurance.

• No preference, on where they come from.

• Automation engineering background

Extension/Conversion

• Possibility for extension is there but can't confirm. Believes there is an opportunity to convert FTE

• Measurement is on if they are able to go through all test cases per week, the time it takes to do those, optimization (are we optimizing test runs and making it more efficient). Defects/bugs found and being able to troubleshoot them.

Best vs Average

• Someone with automation experience, background in Selenium or Java

Top 3 must-have hard skills

• Experience with operating system (IOS or Android)

• Test casing/documentation test methodologies

• Experience working with automation or code
