Role: Production Shift Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Competitive + Company Benefits
Hours: 12-hour day and night shifts roster, as per shift roster:
Winter roster 2 mornings, 2 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off
Summer roster 2 mornings, 2 nights, 4 days off x 3 18 days periods off per year

Our client, a international leading manufacturing company based in Birmingham, is recruiting for a Production Shift Manager to join their rapidly expanding company on a full-time, permanent basis.

As the Production Shift Manager you will be required to control and monitor the performance of the Team Members, the processes and equipment, and current working practices to provide consistent and effective process operation ensuring maximum continuity of quality products, delivered safely and professionally.

Responsibilities:
- To liaise closely with the Production Superintendents and senior team, advising of any
issues as they arise.
- To manage high levels of health and safety at all times.
- To ensure that Production teams follow safe working methods and procedures.
- Reporting any significant hazards and defects that could lead to harm or injury to a person, the environment, or company property.
- To liaise with the safety reps to communicate health and safety information through the crew.
- Reporting all accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences and cooperating in incident investigations arising from or possibly leading to health and safety, and environmental matters.
- To manage the environmental integrity of the operation.
- To manage the quality of production to maximise the output of finished goods.
- To manage the operation of the process to ensure it is run at its most efficient to produce the correct specification of the product.


The Ideal Candidate:
- A wide range of experience gleaned on PM4 or equivalent paper and packaging machines (manufacturing machines)
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies and procedures
- HNC or Equivalent - gained or in the process of being gained (Desirable)
- Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt (Desirable)
- Familiarity with basic lean tools such as 5s / SOPs / KPIs
