Production Operator

• To properly carry out shift changeovers on his machines in line with shift changeover procedure with his colleagues on the preceding and incoming shifts.
  
• To carry out cleaning of the machines surfaces to remove the accumulation of nibs and liquor that may impinge on machines.
  
• Ensure that the machines are operated in a safe condition.
  
• Ensure that magnets are cleaned on a shift basis and that product waste is discharged procedures.
  
• To operate his machines according to standard operating procedure (SOP).
  
• To assist in the maintenance of his machine at the designated time.
  
• Ensure that his shift cleaning & and maintenance activities on his machine do not take longer than the standard time unless there is a compelling reason for such e.g. corrective maintenance on a discovered fault.
  
• To maintain a high standard of performance for his machine in terms of minimizing the number of breakdowns that occurs and the amount of unplanned downtime that is incurred.
  
• To carry out effective planned maintenance by ensuring that the standard operating procedure is adhered to and the correct parts and lubricants are used on his machine.
  
• To promptly and effectively attend to any breakdowns on his machine ensuring that they have a minimal impact on the realization of his production quality and waste targets.
  
• To promptly and effectively attend to any problems on his machines by applying the correct troubleshooting procedures.
  
• To carry out accurate and complete documentation where it is required of him e.g. operator log sheet and Equipment Malfunction Report.
  
• To maintain a high standard of performance of his machine in terms of volume and quantity of output.
  
• To maintain a high standard of machine care in terms of the appearance and state of the equipment.
  
• To maintain a high standard of environmental care in terms of the immediate environment of his machine.
  
• To contribute meaningfully to the continuous improvement of the equipment processes and operation of the line particularly through regular feedback on issues to the coordinator and other managers.
  
• To be involved in the implementation and continuous upgrading of the planned preventive maintenance program on the line when required to do so.
  
  

Requirements

• National Diploma or equivalent.
  
• Previous experience in operating production machinery in a Cocoa manufacturing plant.
  
• Knowledge of Cocoa production processes.
  
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work collaboratively in a team.
