Postdoctoral fellow position and scholarship with the possibility of internship abroad immediate start

The Institute of Science and Technology – ICT of the Sao Paulo State University – UNESP, São José dos Campos campus, is offering a postdoctoral fellow position and scholarship with funding from Sao Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP, under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Rocha Gomes Torres. The selected candidate will participate in the execution of the Thematic Project entitled “DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE FORMULATIONS FOR OPTIMIZING THE EFFECTIVENESS AND SAFETY OF DENTAL WHITENING”, already approved by FAPESP and related to Process 2022/04270-1.

To apply, candidates must have PhD in Dentistry, Pharmacy, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. The essential criteria for this position include obtaining the doctoral degree less than 7 years ago and completing the doctoral course within its normal duration. It is also essential that the candidate has not failed subjects during the undergraduate course and has excellent academic records in postgraduate studies, demonstrating experience in scientific research and having high-impact scientific publications. Additionally, candidates must be proficient in the English language, capable of clearly communicating and writing directly in English.

The selected candidate will receive a Postdoctoral scholarship for a period of 24 months, with a monthly value of BRL 9,047. 40 tax-free, in addition to a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship to meet unforeseen expenses and directly related to research activity. If the scholarship holder needs to move to the city of São Jose dos Campos, he or she may also request the Installation Assistance benefit.

During the scholarship period, the candidate must live in the city of São José dos Campos and be exclusively dedicated to the project. It is not allowed to work or be linked to other educational institutions or dental practice. Upon excellent performance during the internship, the postdoctoral student may undertake an internship abroad with the support of the Research Internship Abroad Grant – BEPE.

The selection process will be carried out directly by an evaluation committee formed by the researchers responsible for the project, with the selected candidate registered by Fapesp to begin the scholarship. The application must be completed by March 30th, exclusively , indicating in the title of the email “Fapesp PD – Application”. To register, applicants will need to send a text in the body of the email talking briefly about themselves and explaining why they would like to pursue a postdoctoral degree, as well as a contact telephone number and email address. Attached, it is requested to send a PDF file of the duly completed Lattes CV , and another PDF file containing the documents that prove the information presented in the Lattes CV, duly ordered and identified following the same order presented in the CV. It is also necessary to attach a PDF file containing the complete academic transcript of the undergraduate and postgraduate course.

After receiving the registration e-mail by the evaluation committee, the applicant will receive a confirmation e-mail indicating that the documents have been received. The selection will be carried out in two phases. First, the information presented in the email and attached documents will be analyzed. Candidates approved in this phase will be invited for a interview to be held at the Institute of Science and Technology – ICT/UNESP, on a day and time to be agreed.
