- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning smoothing and possibly applying a bonding agent or undercoat.
- Mixing Materials: Mix plaster materials according to the specific requirements of the job ensuring the correct consistency for application.
- Application of Plaster: Apply plaster to walls ceilings and other surfaces using various techniques such as troweling spraying or using a hawk and trowel.
- Smoothing and Shaping: Skillfully smooth and shape the plaster to achieve the desired finish whether its a flat surface textured pattern or decorative design.
- Repair Work: Repair damaged or cracked plaster surfaces by removing the old plaster applying new plaster and blending it seamlessly with the existing surface.
- Installing Molding and Ornamentation: Install decorative moldings cornices and other ornamentation made from plaster.
- Working with Different Types of Plaster: Have knowledge of and experience working with various types of plaster including gypsumplaster lime plaster and cement plaster understanding their specific properties and applications.
- Maintaining Tools and Equipment: Keep tools and equipment clean wellmaintained and in good working condition to ensure efficiency and safety on the job.
- Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
