Overview:

The Placement Director plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining relationships with employers to secure job opportunities for students and alumni. They oversee the coordination of career fairs networking events and oncampus interviews to facilitate student placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement placement strategies to meet employment targets.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to understand skill needs and employment trends.
  • Organize and conduct employer outreach to build partnerships and secure job opportunities.
  • Supervise the creation and distribution of job postings and internship opportunities.
  • Provide career advising and support to students in resume writing interview preparation and job search techniques.
  • Coordinate career fairs employer information sessions and networking events.
  • Collect and maintain data on student placement and employer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain a strong alumni network to enhance employment opportunities for graduates.
  • Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of placement programs through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to placement staff and student workers.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential employers and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate career development activities into the curriculum.
  • Manage placementrelated marketing and communication strategies.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry trends and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field such as education counseling business or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in career services recruitment or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with employers and industry professionals.
  • Strong understanding of career services employment trends and labor market information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise staff in a fastpaced environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing career programming and events.
  • Proficiency in using career services management systems and platforms.
  • Ability to analyze data and assess program effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity and inclusion in career services.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to recruiting and employment.
  • Project management skills and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of student development theories and career decisionmaking processes.
  • Professional certification in career counseling or related field is a plus.
