Payroll Deployment Lead Americas

We are currently looking for a Payroll Deployment Lead for one of our clients in the mining and metal industry.

Hourly salary of $70 to $90 based on experience.
7month contract.
Fulltime position: 37.50 hours per week with potential overtime requirements.

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of 45 employees during the testing phase and hypercare post golive.
Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to define project scope objectives training and timelines.
Lead the payroll testing process including test planning test case creation execution and defect management.
Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth data integration.
Monitor and troubleshoot any issues during the deployment phase.
Provide training and support to endusers with the new process from Workday to the payroll systems.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to payroll processing.
Document processes procedures and best practices for future reference.
Attend meetings in Australia with flexibility primarily scheduled within the local time zone.
Be prepared for potential overtime requirements and demonstrate flexibility with working hours to accommodate project needs.

What you will need to succeed:

High level of expertise in payroll processes to effectively support the team in endtoend payroll processing during testing and deployment.
Subject matter proficiency in endtoend payroll processes encompassing employee data management query resolution and related tasks.
Familiarity with the intricacies of local compensation types and eligibility criteria.
Knowledge of the interdependencies between employee compensation and payroll functions.
Experience with systems and processes in relevant areas along with understanding integration points with other processes.
Familiarity with Workday and SAP Payroll with experience being considered an asset.
Experience in data analysis process improvement process design and change management.
Experience with Workday particularly in testing and integration.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Solid grasp of process simplification and standardization principles.
Ability to comprehend data privacy considerations within business processes.
Knowledge of role design segregation of duties and internal control requirements.
Strong stakeholder management skills including experience in engaging with business customers.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal critical.
Bilingual in English and French (both spoken and written).
Adaptable to varying work hours; flexibility with scheduling hours is required.
