Patient Care Coordinator I

• Shift: 40 hours per week Monday Friday
  
• Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto CA
  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with procedure setups patient procedures and examinations.
  
• Performs patient care including vital signs weights rooming assisting with procedures medication administration (vaccinations) and injections and other necessary tests.
  
• As required performs waived testing (urine dipstick urine pregnancy test blood glucose testing) perform EKGs and administers immunizations. Collects and sends specimens to appropriate labs for testing per protocol.
  
• Schedules and edits and maintains patientphysician appointments for new and returning patients using the scheduling system.
  
• Acts as nonclinical liaison/concierge/navigator for the referred patients in anyway the patient needs before during or after an encounter with a medical facility.
  
• Informs patient s authorization and collects payment for new and returning patients using the scheduling system.
  
• Collects patient demographic and insurance data and enters it into systems as well as assigns medical record numbers
  
• Assures appropriate verifications and authorizations are complete before the patient sees a provider.
  
  

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required
  
• Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school /institution or equivalent documented training. Required
  

Experience

• 1 5 years of directly related experience Required with vaccine experience
  
  

• BLS Basic Life Support required
  
• CMA Certified Or Registered Medical Assistant preferred
