Pathology Lab technician

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process specimens for analysis
• Perform various laboratory tests using automated equipment
• Ensure strict adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests conducted and results
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Assist pathologists in examining slides and analyzing results
• Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance of lab equipment
• Participate in lab research and development projects
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
• Proven experience working in a pathology laboratory setting
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and data entry
• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and equipment operation
• Ability to handle and process specimens with precision and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in performing quality control procedures
• Understanding of safety and biohazard protocols
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
