Overall Responsibility:

Position includes reviewing blue prints for determining prep work needed for processing parts and then masking parts as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints to determine required work procedures and materials required.
Clean surfaces of work pieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, steam, sandpaper, or cloth.
Rinse, drain, or wipe coated work pieces to remove excess coating material or to facilitate setting of finish coats on work pieces.
Apply masking or other such materials to ensure surfaces are protected during processing procedures.
Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers or others in determining areas needed for masking according to blue prints or drawings.
Familiar and able to work with precision cutting tools such as X-acto style blades/knives.
De-masking and cleaning parts as required after coatings or processes have been performed paying close attention masking materials applied were correct and adequate in meeting customer/drawing requirements.
Ability to identify process improvements that will allow for better or faster techniques while maintaining or improving the quality of the job.
Perform other incidental duties as may be required.
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
