3. Machine Administration configure and administer racks ASM and grid infrastructure patching
4. Oracle Installs upgrades and patches Oracle Exadata databases and Oracle Applications.
5. Data Guard configuration and administration for high resiliency
Project Scope: This person will be helping Zion migrate Oracle databases off/onto of current Exadata x7 machines that are end of life to new Exadata x10 machines.
Team Size & Environment Breakdown:
15 DBAs that cover various platforms DB2 postgres SQL Server. The specific oracle teams are divided into two: Exadata and NonExadata. The nonexadata team is working on stuff that is hosted on linux. The other half of the team is supporting Exadata sphere. This person would sit on the Exadata sphere team They will be mainly working with the specific Exadata Sphere DBA team. Will have some involvement working with application owners to schedule and coordinate efforts. In terms of Cloud what does the production environment look like Not really working in a cloud environment. Onprem normal DBA work. Cloud support is through service tickets and bare metal patching.
HighLevel Individual Duties:
- Will be working with the Exadata platform heavily.
- A lot of Machine Administration:
- configure rack will be working in a multitenant rack with 2 nodes in current environment.
- ASM
- Grid Infrastructure patching
- Preform Data Guard configuration and administration for high resiliency
- Will be helping patch infrastructure
- DOMU patching related to Exadata customers
Challenges in hiring: Have not been able to find anyone locally in Utah yet. Have recently opened it up nationwide for remote candidates.

Responsibilities
- Support of migration efforts utilizing Oracle with Exadata releases of Oracle installing upgrading and patching Oracle databases.
- Writes scripts or JCL and tuning complex SQL code.
- Analyzes and resolve data issues and troubleshoots problems.
- Responsible for tuning existing and new databases.
- Maintains databases ongoing systems technical support and ensure the integrity of the environment.
- Participate in projects as required.
- Design and plan Exadata deployments and configurations.
- Migrate databases onto and off of Exadata x7 and x9.
- Perform platform health checks.
- Perform periodic patches/updates for both DOMU and system patches.
- Tune the performance of Oracle Databases on Exadata.
- Oracle Exadata Patching (GI DB DOMU).
- ADG Active Data Guard Configuration in multiple Data Centers.
