Haztech has a GREAT opportunity for a Registered Nurse at a mine in the Regina/Moose Jaw area.
This position begins June 1st 2024 and is a term position for 1 year. The schedule is Tuesday Friday from 645 am 445pm
Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Health Promotion and Education:
- Develop and implement health promotion programs to foster a culture of wellness and safety in the workplace.
- Occupational Health Surveillance:
- Maintain a busy Health Surveillance and Periodic Medical Program which includes Audiometry Spirometry Respirator Fit Testing Emergency Response Team Member Medicals Rail Operator Medicals Vision Screening and CustomFit Hearing Protection.
- Maintain accurate health records and databases to track employee health trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Case Management:
- Provide initial assessment and first aid treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Coordinate medical care and rehabilitation services for injured/ill employees including referrals and followup appointments.
- Monitor employee progress and facilitate returntowork programs to ensure a safe and timely return to job duties.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate accommodation efforts support for recovery and injury/illness prevention
- Compliance and Documentation
- Remain current with occupational health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with guidelines
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws.
- Employee Assistance and Counseling:
- Offer confidential counseling and support services to employees dealing with stress mental health issues or personal problems.
- Serve as a resource for employees seeking information or assistance with health related concerns
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the CRNS (Saskatchewan)
- 5 years OHN experience required
- Occupational Health Nursing Certification preferred
- OHN designation preferred
- Audiometric technician certification
- Pulmonary function (spirometry) testing certification
- Disability management certification an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in computer applications including electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office suite
