Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
• Installing configuring and supporting network equipment including routers proxy servers switches WAN accelerators DNS and DHCP.
• Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration directing system installation defining documenting and enforcing system standards.
• Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance troubleshooting network problems and outages scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies defining and monitoring access.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
• Upgrading data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Conferring with project managers to prioritize needs and resolve conflicts between infrastructure and development needs.
• Supporting and administering firewall environments in line with IT security policy.
• Replacement of faulty network hardware components when required.
• Maintaining inventory of equipment.
• Identifying potential risks and resolving issues and documenting the networks architecture.
• Upgrading network by conferring with vendors developing testing evaluating and installing enhancements.
• Securing network by developing network access monitoring control and evaluation maintaining documentation.
• Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs patches hotfixes and security configurations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
• A minimum of 5 years experience in network engineering or a related field.
• Experience with network management and analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP DNS DHCP and LAN/WAN technologies.
• Experience with firewalls Internet VPNs remote implementation troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Capability to configure and install various network devices and services (e.g. routers switches firewalls load balancers VPN QoS).
• Excellent understanding of networking and security best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fastpaced environment.
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud services is a plus.
• Knowledge of VoIP and SIP trunking is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of network capacity planning network security principles and general network management best practices.
• Experience in telecommunication engineering is a plus.
