MySQL DBA

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Install or maintain the performance of our clients' MySQL database servers.
  

• Performance tuning of MySQL database servers.
  

• Set and maintain database standards.
  

• Install, upgrade, and manage MySQL database servers.
  

• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors, performance issues.
  

• Migrate MySQL database to RDS or Aurora
  

• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
  

• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  

• Create automation for repeating database tasks.
  

• Be available for on demand projects
  

• Responsive within 12 hrs.

Requirements

Qualifications/Skills:

• Strong SQL language knowledge
  

• Advanced knowledge of MySQL security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  

• Good Understanding of relational data modeling (dimensional modeling a+)
  

• Unix shell scripting skills
  

• Familiar with pt-toolkit, xtradb backup
  

• Familiar with different MySQL flavors (Percona, MariaDB, MySQL, RDS, Aurora)
  

• At least 3 years experience with MySQL
  

• At least 2 years experience with AWS
  

• Experience with Google Cloud or MS Azure a plus
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
