Job Purpose & Position Overview:To perform laboratory testing for WCHS laboratory.This position is a 7 on 7 off position working WednesdayTuesday on your week to work. Shift is 7 AM to 730 PM. This position will be Every Other Weekend during the week you work. Overtime is earned at >80 hours a pay period. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities: Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe s core mission vision and values Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager the MT/MLT provides technical support by performing analyses tests and procedures that assist in the prevention diagnosis or treatment of diseases. Accessioning/ ordering tests in the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and processing specimens with referral to the reference laboratories. Operates maintains and calibrates the equipment used to ensure it is operating efficiently and providing accurate results Performs basic troubleshooting as needed Maintain documentation according to regulatory agencies and write laboratory policies and procedures. Exposure to infectious clinical specimens on a regular basis so adherence to sterilization and infection control procedures is required. This position is responsible for using his/her skill accuracy proficiency and dedication to work in all laboratory sections performing analytical testing on patients specimens. Candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Duties listed are only an illustration of various types of work performed. The omission of the specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar related or a logical assignment to the process.Qualifications/Skills: Medical Laboratory Technician Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory Science with an Associate s degree and be certified/registered by one of the following agencies: MLT(ASCP) MLT(AMT) CLT(NCA). Medical Technologist Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory Science with a bachelor s degree and be certified/registered by one of the following agencies: MT(ASCP) MT(AMT) CLS(NCA). Minimum of one year of experience preferred. Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices including infection control requirements chemical and biological hazards. Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies and standards.Training Requirements: N/A Physical Requirements: Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Regularly required to walk stand and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard phone and various office equipment. Cognitive Requirements: Reading writing calculating Above average social interaction skills Reasoning/Analysis Works with minimal to no supervision Language Requirements: Must possess the ability to read write and speak the English language fluently. Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
