The role

We are seeking a Middle Office Engineer to join a dynamic team collaborating on the development of the next generation distributed posttrade processing system at our partners organization. This system is designed to offer a realtime perspective into the companys trades positions PNL (Profit and Loss) and risk. The role involves handling substantial volumes of trade and market data with an emphasis on lowlatency processing ensuring correctness consistency and reliability. Operating in an agile environment the team actively contributes to every stage of the Software Development Engineer (SDE) life cycle including design development testing deployment and support.

As an engineer you have a chance to work on various parts of this system and get a firsthand working knowledge of how a trade moves from execution to settlement. The system is continually evolving in terms of both scale as well as new business features.

Mandatory Skills Description

• Strong Java developer
• Possess working knowledge and experience with streaming applications development
• Experience with Testing Frameworks
• Strong database experience particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Ability to gather and understand requirements by working through and understanding how legacy code base (Perl/python) works in order to assess its limitations and build improved solutions
• Ability to triage complex operational issues during oncall support rotation
• Strong communication to work with development and the business teams

NicetoHave Skills

• Experience in Perl would be helpful at the minimum being able to read/debug Perl code and basic familiarity is fine if they can understand the processes. Not expected to write any new perl code.
• Python (basic support scripts for Java processes: light scripting server startup/process automation)
• Finance/Operations/SecMaster experience is a plus but not required
