Title: Senior VMware Virtualization Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Client: Comptroller of the Currency
Location : Washington DC
Job Description:
- Work with the Professional Service and Sales teams, delivery partners, and clients to establish credibility and capability to configure and deploy solutions.
- Work closely with engineering and service teams to build unique technical skills and best practices to optimize the use of our technology in modern data center environments
- Discuss technical best practices, concepts, and technologies to present innovative computing solutions
- Work on complex and sensitive business problems and help implement state of the art data center solutions
- Support and conceive new service opportunities that exceed those currently offered by other providers
- Participate in developing the strategy and initiatives for the services team and assist with driving development and execution
- Assist the team in the prioritization and development of key activities, tools to use and technical implementation programs
- Develop and nurture strong customer relationships with the data center design, operations, and support personnel
- Deploy integrated Server, Storage, Networking, and Software solutions quickly to validate architecture, design concepts and provide implementation feedback.
- Participates in solutions development in all stages including planning, design, development, testing, and documentation.
- Execute given assignments in a self-directed manner, anticipate issues, and modify procedures as necessary.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in information technology
- 5+ years of customer-facing professional services or IT consulting experience
- Knowledge of blade server and storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DASD, ATL, VTL, ILM)
- Strong SAN design and implementation skills
- Strong VMware ESXi and vCenter design and implementation skills
- Strong leadership qualities and experience working directly with customers to ensure strong customer relationships
- Strong client-facing skills, assertiveness, strong communications skills, leadership, self-starter, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with advanced VMware technologies such as View, Horizon, Mirage, SRM, NSX and vRealize
- Strong Windows desktop OS administration experience
- VMware Mirage experience - a plus
- vSphere & Windows based scripting/automation experience a plus
- Horizon View design and implementation experience in enterprise environments
- Networking experience in virtualization environments - a plus
- Storage experience in virtualization environments - a plus
- MCSE - a plus

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or two years of experience at the lower-level Help Desk Analyst 1 Required Experience maintaining Active Directory accounts (activating, de-activating, creating, and managing AD user groups and security levels VPN remote access configuration & troubleshooting experience MS Office and Microsoft 365 troubleshooting experience Experienced performing basic remote or in person troubleshooting by walking customers through problem-solving processes and probing questions. Experience with Service Desk application for managing IT requests Experience supporting and troubleshooting laptops, desktops, IP Phone, cell phones and various applications
