Lead Unity Developer

Summary

The Role
We have an opportunity for an Entry Level Team Lead to oversee and manage a small team within one of our Business Units. Reporting to the Engineering Manager of the Business Unit, you will get to work on industry leading games that are played and loved by millions of players worldwide. This role will suit a Senior Unity Developer who is looking for their first leadership role.

What You'll Do


This role offers the opportunity to work on leading mobile games in a team of highly skilled developers. You will work in an environment that will enable you to boost your Engineering and Management skills and have a big impact on the new features and direction of our titles. We offer flexible working arrangements and are focused on employee development, with the opportunity to obtain recognised industry certifications alongside our in-house management programme.


Responsibilities

Line management of a small team. Including 1to1s, reviews, personal development plans, and team growth
Participate in all aspects of the recruitment process
Liaise with multiple stakeholders within the Business Unit across varying functions
Collaborate with other development leads and their teams within the Business Unit and supporting functions
Direct the team in their technical tasks and workload
Participate in Scrum ceremonies and assist in the story creating process
Manage expectations with stakeholders and be transparent with risks and options
Drive technical quality within the team.


What We're Looking For



Requirements

Empathetic, reasonable, open and approachable, yet firm and fair
Proactively communicative with strong oral and written communication skills
Professional experience with Unity and C#
Solid understanding of software engineering principles and design
Proficient with Unity UI and the graphics pipeline
Experience developing for mobile platforms including profiling and optimisation
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines including SCM, automated building and testing
