Were looking for an experienced professional for our LCA Data team

We are looking for an enthusiastic LCA Data Engineer / Programmer to join our fastgrowing team and develop our database of Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) and other environmentaldata. Your work is valuable to all of our life cycle assessment tools but has a particularly significant impact on our solutions for manufacturersto create EPDs.

The successful candidate will work as part of the data team atOne Click LCA in creating integrating and maintaining data socustomers can easily accurately and comprehensively calculate their environmental impacts tocomply withenvironmentalregulations in architecture engineering construction andmanufacturing industries.

Primarily the job involves creating or integratingnew data using LCIA characterization approachesbased on identifiedcustomer needs andgaps in our current data portfolio. The work involves advanced LCA programming such as building data models based on process and hybrid LCA system models.

Hypothetical example projects you could be working on include:

• Characterise and integrate a new Ecoinvent LCI database version
• Characterise an LCI database using the openLCA API

The job is ideally suited for a candidatewith a background in the sustainability domain who wants to advance their career by diving deep into LCA programming.Candidates with a strong programming background who are interested ingainingadvancedknowledge in the sustainability domain especially in LCA and computational sustainability assessments are also welcome to apply.

You will join an international team of experts in building materials engineering LCA and data analysis responsible for the largest construction LCA database in the world.

The team is supportive effective and united and has missioned on the LCA data development for years and made it what it is now. The work environment is friendly and flexible and everyone has a great deal of autonomy in their role. We are very international diverse and our working language is English.

This position is a fulltime permanent role and is open to candidates globally.

What youll do:

• Characterise and integrate new LCI data
• Test different data integration and qualification solutions
• Run adhoc data analyses to understand opportunities for improvement
• Work with customers and other industry experts to understand the needs
• Solve customer data inquiries and issues
• Maintain highquality standards of compliance
• Keep up to date on developments around One Click LCA products

What you need:

• Masters degree in a relevant field (sustainability engineering programming)
• Strong foundation in LCA concepts
• Experience with advanced programming in LCA especially with LCA databases (both process and Inputoutput)
• Deep understanding of the mechanics of LCA computation and LCA data models (LCIA characterization impact indicator creation LCIA generation inventory methods elementary flows)
• Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of data sciencerelated tasks such as parsing different kinds of data formats (JSON CSV XML XLSX) data cleaning and preparation for analysis analyticsand visualisation
• Good knowledge about EPDs ISO LCA standards (ISO 14040/44 ISO 14067) carbon footprinting and product category rules (PCRs)
• Demonstrated ability and interest in creating good documentation (concept notes technical papers research publications)
• 2 years of experience in projects related to quantitative sustainability assessments involving programming matrixbased computations data mining and data modelling
• Proficiency in programming languages preferably Python
• Programming experience in other languages related to data and sustainability assessments is a significant plus (e.g. R Matlab C)
• Experience with Brightway software
• Understanding of software engineering practices database management (SQL) text processing (e.g. regex) and scraping techniques
• Experience in API programming is a significant plus (in general or with other LCA software like openLCA for IPC scripting)
• Ability toplan prioritise and organise work
• Ability to work independently take initiative adapt to changeand deliver results
• Good command of English both oral and written for team communication
