Laboratory Assistant

We are currently working with a market-leading UK manufacturer of specialist products.

Due to ongoing success, they are currently seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join their team based in Sittingbourne on a temporary to permanent basis.

Working directly with the Chemistry Team Leader, the Laboratory Assistant will be expected to assist in the operation of the research centre with a particular focus on sample testing services.

Responsibilities will include:

Unpacking and sorting of daily samples for analysis.
Carrying out test procedures using filtration equipment and simple hand-held instruments.
Preparation of samples to be analysed by laboratory technicians on larger instrumentation.
Disposal of old samples.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Excellent communication skills.
A methodical approach with accuracy, high attention to detail, and minimal errors to keep up with a busy lab environment.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to keep working areas neat/tidy.
An interest or academic background in Chemistry or a lab environment would be an advantage but isn't essential.

Full training will be given. Hours will be Tuesday to Saturday 5am-1.30pm.
