Job Objective:
As a Junior Accountant you will assist the accounting department in financial record keeping data entry and general accounting tasks. Your responsibilities will include supporting senior accountants and financial managers performing basic bookkeeping duties and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting regulations.
1. Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records by recording transactions in accounting software and spreadsheets.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in processing invoices payments and receipts. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable statements.
3. Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting systems with precision and attention to detail.
4. Financial Reporting: Prepare basic financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
5. Assist in Auditing: Support auditors by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
6. General Ledger Maintenance: Help maintain the general ledger by reconciling accounts posting journal entries and updating financial records.
7. Expense Tracking: Monitor and record business expenses ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
8. Assist in Budgeting: Participate in budget preparation and variance analysis activities.
9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles company policies and regulatory requirements.
10. Support Senior Accountants: Collaborate with senior accounting staff on various projects and tasks as needed.
11. Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as filing organizing documents and responding to inquiries.
Basic Skills and Competence
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g.Sage 50 QuickBooks SAP or similar).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and responsibilities.
Familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and standards (e.g. IFRS) is desirable but not required.
Educational Qualifications/Experience:
1. Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field preferred.
2. Previous experience (internship or entrylevel position) in accounting or finance is a plus.
