Roles & Responsibilities:
- Partnering with engineering and product leadership on cloud database strategy, roadmap, design and implementation standards
- Evaluating emerging data & database technologies and recommend solutions
- Certifying, automating, building and supporting cloud-native data & database platforms
- Designing databases to reflect the need of front-end and back-end users
- Migrate the databases and data to the Cloud
- Creating stored procedures for application programming interfaces (APIs)
- Monitoring systems performance and identifying problems that may arise
- Recommending changes and enhancements for database protection
- Protecting the database from threats and unauthorized access
- Maintaining an awareness of trends and developments in database administration
- Design, document, test and implement solutions for monitoring, maintenance and performance
- Support hardware and software technology upgrades
- Review performance, capacity, workload and take actions
- Proactively work on database enhancements to improve system performance and stability
Job Description:
- 8+ years of experience with IT
- Education: Bachelors Degree
- 5+ years Experience working with AWS (Includes EC2, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC and network security, NACL and Elastic Load Balancers)
- 5+ years of Experience with the following database technologies and related toolset (high availability, data disaster recovery and migration/transformation);
- MS SQL (HADR), PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, Oracle DB, Data Guard,
- 5+ years of Experience migrating mission-critical databases across platforms
- Knowledge in Bash, Powershell, Perl and/or Python scripting.
- Practical experience with DB services from AWS, such as AWS Database Migration Services (AWS DMS), AWS Conversion Schema Tool and others that may be used in the context of database migration.
- Experience with multi-platform mission-critical databases.
- Experience in data modelling and data ingestion flows (ETL), as well as the ability to write and update SQL queries in the context of data extraction/transformation.
- Experience writing stored procedures- PL/SQL, T SQL, PL/pgSQL,
- AWS associate or professional certifications obtained/renewed in the last 1 Year
- A solid history of AWS implementations in a variety of distributed systems
