The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was set up in 2012 under the auspices of the UN SecretaryGeneral to mobilize scientific and technological expertise for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDSNs SDG Transformation Center goal is to support and accelerate the global implementation of the SDGs by providing the public policy makers and civil society with a quantitative databased assessment of SDG progress trends and challenges. Within the SDG Transformation Center the SDG Financing Team covers the thematic of SDG Financing and other related topics.
We are looking for an intern to join our team to support the production of the upcoming Benin Sustainable Development Report 2024 as well as other projects on the assessment of SDG financing gaps and vulnerability. You will assist with data collection and analysis the development of models and literature surveys.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1.Support the monitoring of SDG progress in Benin and the development of Benin Sustainable Development Report 2024. You will assist in the various stages of the development of our report including data extraction analysis production of tables and graphs data checks and drafting.
2.Helping develop models for assessing SDG financing gaps. This means contributing to survey the existing literature build the SDG financing gap framework gather and analyze the data and draft the report.
3.Other tasks as necessary and determined by the team. The SDG Financing team works also on structural vulnerability and the reform of the Global Financial Architecture. Moreover it works closely with the team working on SDG Index & Data team and the team working on SDG policies cities & regions and tools for data visualization and GIS. You will also work on these topics according to the needs of the SDG Transformation Center and the upcoming projects.
Qualifications
Passion for sustainable development and the 17 SDGs
Pursuing an advanced degree in economics statistics political science international relations or equivalent with solid quantitative skills for social science research
Good knowledge of Excel and statistical methods
Ideally knowledge of Stata and/or R
Good understanding of the Global Financial Architecture would be an advantage
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Enrolled in a certified degree program (or be able to obtain a Convention de stage from your university) and have the right to hold an internship in France
Duration
The internship will take place for 6 months from April 2024 to September 2024.
Compensation
You will receive a gratification at the legal standard minimum hourly rate plus 50% of transportation costs.

Le Rseau des Solutions pour le Dveloppement Durable (SDSN) a t cr en 2012 sous les auspices du Secrtaire Gnral de lONU afin de mobiliser lexpertise scientifique pour la mise en uvre des Objectifs de Dveloppement Durable (ODD). En son sein le Centre de transformation pour les ODD a pour objectif de soutenir et dacclrer la mise en uvre des ODD au niveau mondial en fournissant au public aux dcideurs politiques et la socit civile une valuation quantitative des progrs des tendances et des dfis lis aux ODD. Enfin lquipe Financement des ODD couvre la thmatique du financement des ODD ainsi que les sujets qui y sont lis.
Nous sommes la recherche dun(e) stagiaire pour rejoindre notre quipe afin de soutenir la production du prochain Rapport sur le dveloppement durable pour le Bnin 2024 ainsi que dautres projets sur lvaluation des dficits de financement des ODD et des vulnrabilits structurelles. Vous contribuerez la collecte et lanalyse des donnes au dveloppement de modles et revues de littrature.
Tches et responsabilits
1.Soutenir le suivi des progrs des ODD du Bnin et la production du Rapport sur le Dveloppement Durable pour le Bnin 2024. Vous participerez aux diffrentes tapes de llaboration de notre rapport notamment lextraction des donnes lanalyse la production de tableaux et de graphiques la vrification des donnes et la rdaction du rapport.
2.Contribuer llaboration de modles dvaluation des dficits de financement des ODD. Cela consistera notamment tudier la littrature existante laborer le cadre du dficit de financement des ODD extraire et analyser les donnes et rdiger le rapport.
3.Autres tches selon les besoins identifis par lquipe. Lquipe Financement des ODD travaille galement sur la vulnrabilit structurelle et la rforme de larchitecture financire mondiale. De plus elle travaille en troite collaboration avec les quipes en charge de lIndice des ODD et des Donnes des politiques pour les ODD des villes et rgions ainsi que les outils de visualisation de donnes et donnes gospatiales. Vous serez amen(e) travailler sur ces sujets en fonction des besoins du Centre de transformation pour les ODD et des projets en cours.
Qualifications
Passion pour le dveloppement durable et les 17 ODD
Inscrit(e) dans une formation niveau master en conomie statistiques sciences politiques relations internationales ou quivalent avec de solides comptences quantitatives pour la recherche en sciences sociales
Bonne connaissance dExcel et des mthodes statistiques
Idalement connaissance de Stata et/ou R
Une bonne comprhension de larchitecture financire mondiale serait un avantage
Matrise de langlais (crit et parl)
tre inscrit(e) un programme de diplme certifi (ou pouvoir obtenir une Convention de stage de votre universit) et avoir le droit deffectuer un stage en France
Dure
Le stage aura lieu pendant 6 mois davril 2024 septembre 2024.
Compensation
Vous recevrez une gratification au taux horaire minimum standard plus 50 % des frais de transport.
