Our client is a European utility company. They actively manage a wide range of utility scale energy assets focused on solar PV onshore wind and storage solutions. They are looking to build their Chilean team by hiring highly ambitious people who care about making a difference as they move towards a sustainable energy transition. The team is being structured to support their rapid growth ambitions and longterm ownership of energy assets. They are currently looking several positions and one of them is an Electric Engineer (ITO Electrico) to join the project/construction management team. The successful candidate will supervise onsite (currently XVI region) construction activities of several PV projects throughout their construction cycle and ensure projects are completed as per detailed design quality requirements and the local regulations on a variety of solar energy projects in Chile. The Electric Technical Inspector will report directly to the Construction Manager and its expected to stay the complete cycle of the projects.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and ensure the correct execution of the electrical works of the project mainly installation of equipment electrical devices and control systems of the project.
  • Studying and applying detailed engineering technical characteristics of electrical equipment and devices considering the manufacturers recommendations and the local regulations.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings.
  • Ensuring progress and compliance with the electrical works project.
  • Drawing up and applying procedures for the installation and revision of electrical works.
  • Prepare constant reports and reports on the physical progress of the project with possible improvements and corrective measures applicable to the project.

The perfect candidate is an Electrical Engineer (or related studies) with at least 3 years of solar/PV (30 MWp) construction experience. Mandatory to have good level in; (i) MS Office (specially Excel and PowerPoint) (ii) AutoCAD and (ii) MS Project. Desirable a good technical understanding of PMGDs construction. Must have a decent level in English (enough to have basic conversations in English). It is ideal a good experience in commissioning telecommunications (equipment) interconnection and project startups.

The job is based in Chile and he must be on site five days a week (mon/tues/wed/thur/fri). It is likely that you may be required to travel to other locations in Latin America based on opportunities.
