Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Job Description & Skill Requirement:

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. This will be full time/ TPC onsite position at CLIENT facility in Elkhart, IN.
  2. Performance of data collection of current state production to deepen understanding of current production and development of baselines for future improvements.
  3. Ideation of process development improvements to be made that have been identified by the team.
  4. Design and simulation of cellular and system layouts, process flows, time studies, and line balancing activities of current and future state of operations.
  5. Completion of work instructions for each solution created.
  6. Supporting the protype build from conception through implementation.
  7. Ability to read, create, and follow basic mechanical engineering drawings to support prototyping efforts.
  8. Ability to create 2D operational layouts for cellular and system improvements.
  9. Identify equipment and other asset requirements necessary to facilitate process improvements and work directly with suppliers on equipment specifications and quoting.
  10. Works closely with internal cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and outside vendors to achieve desired results.
  11. Work as part of a functional team under the direction of the assigned manager in the timely execution of projects. Includes providing status updates for assigned tasks and activities.
  12. Develop and refine skills related to operational improvements to support both project execution and training of operational staff.
  13. Travel will be necessary.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 4-year degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related degree required with 4 to 7 years of related work experience.
  • Must be proficient with factory floor simulation tool(s) (Preferably FlexSim or Similar)
  • AutoCAD and Basic hands on SolidWorks
  • MS Office, and MS Visio
  • Lean manufacturing, and DFMA methodologies.
  • Must have strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in leading teams during implementation of operational improvements is a must.
Ability to operate basic hand and measurement tools is a must.
