The Import Sea Operator & Registrations Clerk is responsible for providing a wide range of sea freight services that cover all of the client s importing needs. Additionally the Sea Operator & Registrations Clerk must have expertise in the lodgment of sea cargo and other import sea procedures a firm understanding of transshipment services entry of ocean freight rates and applicable fees & charges for imported merchandise.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Import Sea Operations within the Freight Forwarding industry.
  
• A Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Customs Administration or a similar qualification.
  
• Accurately compile/classify & value import and export products and AQIS formalities.
  
• Fast data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  
• Advanced computer skills including working with spreadsheets in Excel.
  
• Experience using CargoWise Logistics Software.
  
• Excellent communication skills (Verbal and written) & Strong work ethic.
  
• The ability to meet timelines.
  
• Ability to have a businessfocused mind and a drive to succeed.
  
• Ability to manage a high volume of jobs and prioritize workload.
  
• Liaise professionally with customers internal and external.
  
• Ensure shipments are registered within specified time frames.
  
• Build strong relationships with external stakeholders.
  
• Accurately update systems databases with appropriate information.
  
• Commercial understanding of client needs and the functionality of their business through Customer Service.
  

Advantageous To Have:

• Advanced knowledge of Australia Government Regulations around lodgment of sea cargo (Australian Border Force).
  

• Registration of Airfreight FCL and LCL Cargoes for both direct and transhipment services as well as cross trades.
  
• Lodging Sea cargo reports via CargoWise software in the ICS.
  
• Requesting Transshipment details from Shipping Lines and Coloaders.
  
• Posting invoices into CargoWise including agent invoices tax invoices shipping line invoices and cartage company invoices.
  
• Sending manifests to coloaders for LCL s.
  
• Sending arrival notices and prealerts to external brokers.
  
• Update ETA and vessel details via 1stop software.
  
• Requesting debit notes from agents and tax invoices from coloaders.
  
• Chasing for telex releases from agents.
  
• Accurately register in CargoWise and enter rates for shipments to be billed.
  
• Liaise professionally with internal and external customers.
  
• Liaise with internal departments appropriate shipping lines and overseas agents.
  
• Accurately capture relevant shipping data ensuring shipments are registered within a specified time frame.
  
• Build strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  
• Accurately update systems databases with appropriate information.
  
• Registration of jobs in Enterprise software whether it be brokerage only jobs or those which also include freight forwarding.
