Position Description:
The HVAC Mechanic performs a variety of HVAC/R trade functions including installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equipment. This role involves working with various HVAC equipment such as air and water cooled chillers AHUs cooling towers VAVs EAVs CAVs Roof Top and DX units environmental/walkin boxes incubators and humidifiers. The mechanic will diagnose failed components in applicable environmental systems or equipment using blueprints drawings layouts or other specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Directly communicate with management teammates and customers through meetings facetoface or written communications.
• Troubleshoot equipment perform project takeoffs and solicit quotations in support of the procurement process.
• Execute scheduled and unscheduled tasks in a timely manner with a focus on quality.
• Perform maintenance on all types of HVAC/R equipment.
• Communicate complex communication/equipment repair and/or replacement projects maintenance schedules work plans SOWs and detailed cost estimates.
• Work closely with the chief engineer and project manager to ensure all records and documentation are uptodate.

Position Requirements:

• Strong understanding of refrigeration theory.
• Knowledge of current codes and standard practices.
• Minimum five years experience in commercial/industrial facilities.
• Fundamental understanding of maintenance troubleshooting and repair principles.
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hold a current journeymans license (Virginia).

Education Requirements:
Hold a current journeymans license in the state of Virginia.

Experience Requirements:

• Experience with HVAC/R maintenance troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience with military and/or DoD facilities is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to meet all physical requirements specific to this scope of work.
• Must be able to stand walk use hands reach talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to climb balance stoop kneel or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a sitting position for 8 or more hours per day.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Must be able to travel to job locations by automobile.
