Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Hot Side Equipment Technician with expertise in Hood Systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of commercial kitchen equipment, with a specialization in hood systems and associated components. The Hot Side Equipment Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and compliance of our clients commercial kitchens.



Key Responsibilities:


1. Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of hot side equipment, including but not limited to ovens, grills, fryers, and steamers.
  • Specialize in servicing hood systems, exhaust fans, and ventilation components to ensure optimal air quality and safety standards.
  • Diagnose issues accurately and efficiently, using a combination of diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and hands-on expertise.

2. Troubleshooting:

  • Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems in commercial kitchen equipment and hood systems.
  • Analyze equipment performance issues and determine root causes, proposing effective solutions to restore functionality.

3.Installation and Upgrades:

  • Assist with the installation, setup, and testing of new hot side equipment and hood systems in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth equipment integration during kitchen renovations or upgrades.

4.Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all repaired and serviced equipment meets safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform thorough inspections of hood systems and ventilation setups to ensure proper airflow, fire suppression, and exhaust efficiency.

5.Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and service activities performed, including parts used, diagnostic outcomes, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Generate detailed service reports and share insights with supervisors and clients.

6.Customer Relations:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing exceptional customer service, clear communication, and timely resolution of equipment issues.
  • Offer guidance to clients on best practices for equipment usage, maintenance, and cleaning.





Requirements


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Hot Side Equipment Technician, specializing in Hood Systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various hot side equipment, with an emphasis on hood systems, exhaust fans, and ventilation setups.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Pass Background Checks
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • The role may involve lifting heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 pounds) and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in varying environmental conditions, including hot and noisy environments.
