Staffinity is seeking a Health and Safety manager for a full-time, permanent position in Toronto. The salary range is 80-110k including benefits and pension.

Responsibilities:
  • 70% of the work will be in the field
  • Conduct site safety evaluations(vehicle & laptop provided by employer)
  • Administerand maintain all aspects of the Health and Safety policy and program
  • Work with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, to implement and coordinate company policies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company health and safety policies, procedures and programs to enhance safety
  • Incident and accident investigationincluding disciplinary action
  • Manage the safety representative and work closely with foremen
  • Coordinate safety meetings, organize Joint Health and Safety Meetings and a semi-annual subcontractor committee meetings
  • Manage, move and track all heavy equipment
  • Track equipment inspection reports including expensing and invoicing
  • Maintain up to date training and licensing for all employees and sub contractors

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Drivers license
  • Strong working knowledge of OHSA and related Federal, Provincial and local regulations
  • Bachelors degree in Occupation Health and Safety or similar
  • CRSP or CSO is a strong asset
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a safety role within a construction environment
  • NCSO designation preferred
  • Experience with the COR process is considered a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Safety knowledge in Fall Protection, Fire Protection and WHMIS
  • Knowledge and practical experience in accident investigation
  • Excellent organization skills.
