Job Description

Rize HR is currently searching for a corporate/general accountant to join a large supportive team to perform a wide range of accounts payable accounting administrative and office support activities for the department and managers to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.

The position requires 13 years experience with accounts payable or accounting. Enrollment in an accounting program or a degree would be an asset. The candidate must be detail oriented and have experience with accounts payable reconciling and analyzing accounts. Expertise with Yardi Excel and other Microsoft Office features is preferred. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their accounting experience and learn one of Vancouvers most dynamic industries. Ideal candidates have 12 years of experience with high volume Accounts Payable.

Reporting into the Controller successful candidates will be driven professional able to pick up quickly and support a large team.

Duties include:

Accounts Payable

Processing invoices for the assigned portfolio:

  • Coding invoices for review
  • Obtaining all the relevant invoice documentation
  • Matching invoices and purchase orders
  • Entering and recording of approved invoices in Yardi Voyager in a timely manner with accuracy
  • Processing monthly recurring accounts payable entries
  • Managing chequesigning process
  • Maintaining accounts payable files

General Accounting

  • Monthly Reporting
  • Printing financial statements and other related reports from Yardi
  • Assisting with the distribution of the reports and statements
  • Budget Comparison Summaries
  • Management Summary Reports
  • Responsible for assisting with accounts receivable as needed
  • Cocoordinating and managing the bank deposits and bank run (as needed)
  • Bank reconciliations as assigned
  • Filing invoices and other documents as assigned
  • Mail notifications to tenants as assigned
  • Updating reports and tracking status of tenant lease documents
  • Other related functions and projects as needed

General Office Responsibilities

  • General clerical duties including photocopying and mailing
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned

Organizational Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Controller and Director Property Management Accounting
