What is the Investment Risk Analyst responsible for
- Founded in 2002 Alcentra is one of the largest European headquartered credit and private debt managers with over $35 billion of assets under management and global expertise in Senior Secured Loans High Yield Bonds Private Credit Structured Credit Special Situations and MultiStrategy credit. Alcentras objective is to deliver strong riskadjusted returns that are less correlated through a complementary suite of traditional and alternative credit strategies. In pursuing this objective the investment strategy and approach to credit selection are based on intensive fundamental research and credit analysis combined with active portfolio management to minimize credit losses.
- The successful candidate will be employed as Investment Risk Analyst To maintain and enhance the investment risk framework across Alcentra globally.
- Role covers all aspects of the investment risk framework including various reporting.
- Work with fund control and operations teams to source consolidate structure an calculate relevant risk data for both internal and external clients.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Investment Risk Analyst
Responsible for endtoend reporting process for a suite of reporting requirements including:
- Seek confirmation from 1LOD of equity holdings.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting using the risk system Innocap (and sending raw data to traders monthly)
- Monthly/quarterly/semiannual submissions to AIFM and fund boards
- Assist the generation of quarterly risk reporting for Investment Risk and Senior Manager
- Quarterly submissions to Alcentra EMEA distribution
- Development and maintenance of procedure documents for investment risk management activities
- Analysis of corporate financial documents to support Alcentras counterparty onboarding process and annual review.
- Ad hoc projects and investigations
What ideal qualifications skills & experience would help someone to be successful
- Must be numerate and literate with attention to detail especially with respect to data analysis
- Ability to identify procedural numerical and data errors: not simply a process follower
- Ability to identify data anomalies in a given data set or versus historical trends
- Quick to learn with a handson proactive and helpful attitude
- Fully conversant with Word for Windows Excel and PowerPoint
- Top excel skills complete and immediate understanding of common excel formulae and how they are used in different circumstances
- Persistent not always accepting the easy answer
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Understanding of asset management a plus
- Understanding of credit analysis loans or debt instruments a plus
- Experience of Tableau or Power BI a plus
