Financial Planning and Analysis FPA DirectorController

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Director/Controller to oversee the financial management and leadership of our growing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce retail, inventory tracking and management skills, and a proven track record in financial analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with executives, third parties, and appropriate management to execute accounting functions, ensure regulatory and legal compliance, and set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial data, perform variance reporting, and prepare monthly reporting package of the company's financial performance versus budget and forecast, including updating the full-year forecast on a monthly basis

• Coordinate and lead the company forecasting activities and annual budgeting process

• Prepare and maintain reporting templates, including preparation of monthly financial statements

• Assist in the development of financial reports (monthly & quarterly) ensuring compliance with internal controls and GAAP

• Oversee and coordinate all financial activities and personnel, including managing the accounting team, monitoring compliance with debt covenants, and conducting internal audits to assess financial status

• Monitor invoices and POs for correctness and completion and submission into accounting system

• Participate in system migration, analyze data to suit changing requirements, perform reviews, and prepare necessary documents

• Set controls and budgets to mitigate risk and increase return on investments

• Ensure regulatory and legal compliance on all accounting functions, including federal and state regulations

• Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques

• Communicate effectively with management and senior leadership, including providing financial modeling and analysis of business decisions for executives

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred

2+ years in Director of Finance & Accounting/Controller capacity (ideally in e-commerce)

3+ years hands-on experience with inventory tracking, gross margin analysis, accounting, reporting, and general ledger

Strong analysis and financial reporting skills required.

Strong working knowledge of Quickbooks and Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and advanced excel formulas

Excellent communication , written, verbal and interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate critical data and reports to executives and key individuals

Keen eye for details, strong analytical and critical thinking

Resourceful, driven, and positive attitude

Experience with Stampli, Quicksight, and Brightpearl are a plus!
