What we are looking for

We are looking for a Financial Controller to work remotely under the leadership of the CFO and be their righthand person for all aspects of the finance operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting procurement and treasury team across both campuses. You will also collaborate with different teams across the organization at different levels of seniority and be responsible for implementing bestinclass systems and controls to ensure that we operate ethically efficiently and costeffectively.


What does the job involve

  • Taking ownership of the daytoday monthly and year end operations of the Finance department and maintain the integrity of all financial information.
  • Leading the monthly quarterly and year end close process and coordinate statutory audit in line with group reporting deadlines and statutory requirements.
  • Supervising and reviewing all balance sheet recons and supporting schedules (including bank statements fixed assets accruals prepayments deferred revenue and intercompany matching) and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
  • Preparing and submit monthly/yearly returns in line with the relevant laws and legislations.
  • Developing and managing a strong internal control framework ensuring compliance to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with banks tax authority and other relevant external parties.
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant developments in IFRS and regulatory framework.
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant developments in tax requirements in our locations.
  • Participate in the production of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Supporting or owning ad hoc projects including systems implementation and/or integration.


Qualifications

  • A qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with 8 years of postqualification experience including relevant management experience.
  • Strongly proficient with Microsoft Office and Gsuite especially Excel and working knowledge of Netsuite accounting software would be an advantage.
  • Experience implementing internal control systems (risk mapping policies processes and controls).
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills highly organised and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to manage his/her time and prioritising tasks to a high standard to meet deadlines (capability to deal with several projects in parallel).
  • Experience building financial systems in a fast moving environment.
  • You have a stellar track record of managing midsized multisites accounting teams including in Africa.
