Position: Finance Business Analyst Level I Daily
Location: Montr al QC H3A 2A6

Job Description:
- Functional support analyst is accountable for daily support and responsible to analyze accounting issues during production phases. As required along with functional support and user setup may be performed. The Analyst shall serve on a team which acts as the first pointof contact ( Level 1 and 2): the role will be to receive to record and to understand issues to fix business logic issues suggest improvements route unknown issues to Level 2 vendor support staff and to then communicate the resolution to the requestor. Need to be an expert in fund accounting activity have a good understanding of NAV cycle be able to lead analysis of figures at accounting level (be able to explain NAV variations) be familiar with classic financial products and derivatives
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and supporting the daytoday production activities.
- Diagnosing and provide and high level of functional support for accounting applications Multifonds FA/WEM & Calculo.
- Analysis and solving accounting and technical issues during production phases raise change requests to the vendor ensure the follow up of issues until the delivery of patch correction.
- Understand prerequisites for accounting migrations and specific accounting events such as merger split/change of currency of share classes.
- Contribute to maintain a very stable BAU to deliver NAV on time and match with the deadlines.
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the team. Willing to work in different day if required.
- Provide guidance instruction direction to their team and help team create and maintain shared team values.
- Testing of new Multifonds functionalities.
- Internal Global Communication between APS IT and development teams.
- Providing an added value to set efficient work around in BAU.
- Avoiding recurring incidents
- Closely follow up monitoring dashboards.
- Ensure excellent communication reporting and escalation as and when needed.
- Participate in the several fund migration activities testing internal meetings and catchup calls with the external service providers.
Fund Accounting Platform:
The process of fund accounting is highly sensitive and is regulated by several industry norms. To work in the is process it requires:
- Expertise in the business and indepth understanding of the functional process in general. This includes the knowledge of financial instruments Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation that is the key value for any Mutual funds.
- Must be an expert in fund accounting activity.
- Be familiar with the different existing funds structures on the market (multiclass funds poolings segment master structures concept of share class hedging...)
- SMEcore accounting application Multifonds FA/WEM software (Temenos) to provide a high level of functional support.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in finance/accounting required; advanced degree considered a plus.
- Minimum 4 years financial industry experience.
- Knowledge of ITL is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle SQL / PLSQLACCESS & EXCEL
- Prior experience creating procedures
- Good written and spoken English
- Must have worked on Collecting Metrics & Analyzing the request/ tickets
- Measure and identify areas for improving Quality and overall Delivery
- Able to communicate efficiently
- Good Team Player
- French/English
Domain
- Knowledge and/or experience of the investment services industry / Funds Administration will be mandatory
- Prior business analysis experience in an application support environment
Soft Skills
- Analytical skills: being familiar with figures of accounting reports and rules including taxes figures.
- Autonomous: being able to lead investigations to solve issues by mobilizing all resources/departments requested.
- Flexibility: be ready to be involved in late shift.
- Ability to report: Keeps his/her superiors informed about his/her activities and the progress of his/her files in an effective way. Draws attention to useful information risks and sensitive points.
- Client focus: Does everything possible to achieve internal or external customer satisfaction by identifying the customers needs and providing them with the appropriate solution.
