ChromaTan is an earlyphase company disrupting the biologics purification space with a columnfree continuous purification platform (BioRMBTM). Our mission is to enable nextgeneration flexible manufacturing facilities and lower cost production of lifesaving biologics. This position will focus on developing Downstream processes for viral vectors mRNA DNA mAbs and Recombinant Proteins for client projects.
Location & Travel:
Based in the Greater Boston area or Ambler PA area or willing to be based in MA in the near future
Will need to travel between work sites contractor sites and customer sites (6070% local/domestic travel).
Onboarding training will be offered at ChromaTan s HQ located in Ambler PA. Expect to spend at least 2 months in Ambler for training.
Roles and responsibilities:
The Field Application Engineer will provide technical support to customers related to ChromaTan s platform and potential new customers.
Attending to customers requests for service including BIORMBTM chromatography system installation commissioning qualification and training.
Support customers projects at their sites running the system troubleshooting analyzing data and creating reports.
Respond to customer inquiries and offer comprehensive technical solutions to support customer needs as well as building and maintaining strong customer relationships actively engaging in Key Account customer development and maintenance.
Provide timely support for products and services by answering technical inquiries from customers through email phone calls and visits.
Perform training and continuing education for customers.
Work closely with Chromatan s process development and engineering teams to further develop product solutions and optimization application notes and customer support plans.
Leadership / management potential will be considered for successful job performers.
Requirements
Technical skills and experience:
BS or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering Biochemistry Bioengineering or a related field with 35 years of downstream laboratory experience in bioprocess development for multiple modalities (Viral vectors mRNA mAbs plasmid DNA recombinant proteins). Wet lab experience in an industry setting highly preferred.
Handson experience with column chromatography and filtration systems (needed).
Knowledge and technical experience in biotechnology related development including chromatography fluid mechanics filter sizing analytical techniques and process design (preferred).
Working knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC UVVis ELISA and qPCR (preferred).

Reporting: This position reports to the Associate Director of Process Development
