JOB TITLE: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) OFFICER

The EHS Officer in the landscape industry plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining EHS programs to guarantee a safe work environment and sustainable practices. They collaborate with management staff and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

About the Job

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all aspects of environmental health and safety programs within our organization. You will work closely with management employees and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Developing implementing and maintaining EHS policies procedures and programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits of facilities equipment and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EHS regulations and standards.
  • Providing EHS training to employees on topics such as hazardous materials handling emergency response procedures and workplace safety protocols.
  • Investigating accidents incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to assess risks develop risk mitigation strategies and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies conducting regulatory inspections and ensuring timely submission of required reports and permits.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in EHS regulations industry standards and best practices and advising management on potential impacts and compliance requirements.
  • Attending partner briefings and submitting requisite reports.

  1. Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  2. Professional certification in EHS.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental health and safety management preferably in the Telecom/Engineering sector.
  4. Strong knowledge of statutory EHS regulations and standards.
  5. Excellent communication interpersonal and leadership skills.
  6. Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
  8. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  9. Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
