Our customers see the results of our efforts where it counts most at the bottom line. What is an Electrical Controls and Service Technician? The Electrical Controls and Service Technician is responsible for design and assemble electro-mechanical components of Enervac equipment. This includes testing of functionality, preparing documentation as well as training customers in the factory and in the field on use and maintenance of Enervac Equipment. What Were Looking For The ideal candidate will have a 309A or 442A Electrician license as well as three years experience in machine or commercial wiring and be able to travel. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assemble electrical portion of all equipment, pulling wire, installing electrical conduit and terminating all connections as required. 2. Wire machine controls, including displays, indicator lights, sensors, photo-eyes, solenoids, motors, relays, etc. 3. Neat and organized installation of conduit and cabling throughout equipment and trailers. 4. Ensure all designs comply to specific standards as required, including UL, NEC, CSA and CE standards 5. Compliance and understanding of all related legislative and corporate criteria. 6. Design and assist in the build and commissioning of the control systems for our systems, including the electrical panels, the PLC program, HMI program and specifying the necessary components. 7. Assist in PLC and SCADA / HMI program management and archiving. 8. Provide training, servicing and commissioning of Enervac equipment. 9. Oversee testing department, equipment organization and part inventories. 10. Equipment testing, certification and preparation of test report documents. 11. Act as client liaison to provide support, application, technical, installation and trouble-shooting consultation with customers. 12. Travel to commission and provide training on equipment in the field. 13. Work with manufacturing, purchasing and sales on selecting new or updated products/materials and processes for Enervac equipment. 14. Effectively use material handling equipment when necessary (such as: lift trucks, tow motors, cranes, high lifts, etc.). 15. Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc. 16. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively. 17. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company. 18. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards. 19. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner. 20. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance. 21. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. Required Experience and Education 309A or 442A Electrician license required. High school diploma or equivalent. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. Three years experience in machine or commercial wiring. Experience with motors, drives and working with electrical controls in an industrial environment preferred. Ability to work cooperatively with others, taking directions from drawings or verbal instruction. Ability to understand wiring diagrams, PLC ladder diagrams, PLC programs, electrical schematics. Ability to troubleshoot control circuits. Ability to use electrical and mechanical tools, including meters, buzz lights, wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, conduit benders and threading machines. Ability to handle non-routine, standard projects and tasks. Strong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills. Self-directed with ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision. Ability to apply product knowledge and past experience to make independent decisions. Ability to function and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals. Proficient in MS Office products. Proficient in Bill of Material preparation. Physical and Technical Environment Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee. Required to wear impact goggles, face shield and hearing protection when using hand held grinders. Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs. Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, reach with hands or arms. Clean and orderly manufacturing environment, some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards. Exposure to noise, dust, heat and cold on a regular basis. Overtime required to respond to project deadlines. Exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards. Must respond to changing requirements and working conditions. Travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints.
