Duration 6 Months
We are seeking a talented and experienced NetApp Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a NetApp Resident Engineer you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining NetApp storage solutions to support our clients infrastructure needs. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure the smooth operation of storage systems and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing performance. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the successful implementation configuration and migration of NetApp storage solutions as outlined in the project scope.
Key Responsibilities:
Design deploy and manage NetApp storage solutions to meet client requirements.
Perform installation configuration and maintenance of NetApp hardware and software components.
Monitor storage infrastructure performance and capacity identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Migration Management: Oversee the migration of virtual machines (VMs) and Network File System (NFS) data to the new NetApp infrastructure ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to project timelines.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate NetApp storage solutions with existing systems and applications.
Develop and implement storage policies procedures and best practices to ensure data integrity and availability.
System Health Verification: Conduct thorough health checks of both NetApp systems and associated network switches to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
Upgrade and Decommissioning: Facilitate the decommissioning of legacy NetApp hardware including data migration volume deletion and system disassembly. Coordinate firmware upgrades for network switches and NetApp ONTAP software.
Knowledge Transfer: Provide handson training and knowledge transfer sessions to client IT staff empowering them to effectively manage and maintain the NetApp environment postimplementation.
Project Management: Collaborate with project stakeholders to define key milestones assess project risks and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Communicate project status updates and escalate any issues as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
7 years of experience as a NetApp Engineer or in a similar role.
Indepth knowledge of NetApp storage systems including hardware software and protocols.
Handson experience with NetApp ONTAP SAN NAS and storage management tools.
Strong understanding of storage technologies RAID configurations and data protection methods.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python) for automation and scripting tasks.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage issues.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
NetApp certification (e.g. NetApp Certified Data Administrator NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer).
Experience with cloud storage solutions (e.g. NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP).
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware HyperV).
Working Conditions:
This role will be completely onsite .
Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate project deadlines and client requirements.
