Position: Drafting Engineer

Job Description:

Primarily responsible for the execution of projects between Customer Engineering and the subcontract design drafting team. Ability to work with the Customer drafting manager along with other Leads/Supervisors to assign and schedule the daytoday work of individual CAD designers/operators assigning/changing priorities and monitoring status.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Liaison between CUSTOMER engineering and subcontract design drafters
• Provide administrative supervision of subcontract design drafting staff.
• Administration of Customer policies and procedures for subcontract drafting staff.
• Establish and manage performance required to satisfy project fabrication construction milestones deliverables and lead corrective actions where necessary.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (desirable) or other technical degree.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in drafting
• Ability to read and interpret Structural steel Piping and Ductwork drawings.
• Good communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor and Navis Works is desirable.
• Fabrication/Construction experience desirable
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Must be capable of developing fabrication drawings with an understanding of efficiency and financial impact.
• Has a working knowledge of manufacturing processes machines and various building materials.
