JWR Employment Specialists are recruiting a Dispatcher/Call Taker for an Intermediate Care Service in Co. Mayo
The person in this role will ensure the smooth running of the day to day activities by coordinating effectively with customers.

Duties include;
Responsible for receiving nonemergency and related calls and requests in order to meet service users needs in a timely manner
Manage calls and ensure that the proper response team is in place to take care of the caller s request
Ensure that all requests are dealt with appropriately
Be responsible for the effective and efficient preplanning of routine patient transport and associated transport schedules
Mobilise and brief as appropriate Ambulance Crews Intermediate health services (hospital and community based) and other agencies as required
Liaise with nonhealth service agencies as required including but not limited to the VHI.
Provide appropriate pre arrival and post dispatch instructions in response to calls in a prompt and timely manner
Maintain a high standard of care while being mindful of the patient s wellbeing.
The role requires discipline and strong organisation skills to succeed
Provide support to service user s enquiries politely courteously and to deliver exceptional customer service
Provide a detailed record of each customer call received
Inputting data into a system remaining calm for the caller
Ensure that the caller s information remains confidential
Liaise with ambulance crew to ensure highest level of response
Demonstrate a professional attitude at all times towards work fellow colleagues and customers
Other duties may include administration such as; roster and any other duties as required or instructed by operations
Liaising with emergency services if required
Demonstrate an openness to actively support change within the role and have a willingness to adapt to any new responsibilities
The operations centre will function 24/7/365 across a number of shifts
Attend training as provided
Requirements:
Previous experience in a servicebased industry preferable health care
Excellent PC and IT skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be customer focused while maintaining integrity
Have 2 years experience working within a Control Room or other related environment
Ability to work irregular hours including weekends and public holidays
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Be able to work under pressure and make effective and timely decisions by following well defined standard operating procedures
Maintaine a customer focus and be confident and resilient
Be a competent in handling situations that fall outside the standard operating procedures
Have the ability to work successfully as an individual and as part of a closeknit team
Take direction from team leaders and control room supervisors as appropriate
Full Time
