Director of Finance

Candidates role in a nutshell

As a Director of Finance & Customer Success you will manage operational financial reporting budgeting and planning processes in all key business functions and play a leading role in ensuring the company meets its short and longterm targets.

Scope of duties

• Take a handson role in leading the financial reporting process including preparing consolidated financial statements monthly management reports and analysis to guide decision making.
• Prepare accounting records and documentation including bank and credit card reconciliations intercompany accounts payroll accounts receivable and payable and HST filings.
• Manage yearend external audits and be the main point of contact.
• Manage accounting controls and tools (e.g. QuickBooks Online Ceridian Float) and identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business.
• Assist in the annual forecasting and budgeting process.
• Ensure compliance with local law tax provisions and relevant industry and financial regulations.

What the candidate offers

• Canadian CPA designation.
• 8 years experience as a senior accountant financial controller FP&A or similar roles (strategic finance corporate finance investment banking private equity consulting corporate development).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with internal business partners and department leads.
• Thrive in a dynamic fastpaced environment and is not fazed by ambiguity.
• Experience in SaaS or a highgrowth tech company is preferred.
