Who we are:

At Augusta Distillery our vision is to create a bourboncentric ecosystem that delivers authentic welcoming bourboncentric experiences in and from Augusta that delight consumers create economic opportunity for Augusta and the region and deliver shareholder value.

Located on the banks of the Ohio river in Augusta KY just east of Cincinnati OH our distillery is in the start up phase with the construction and build out of our distilling operations and visitors center at the former F.A. Neider Building. We have successfully acquired a significant inventory of bourbon of differing ages to supply our product sales plan and have successfully launched our Buckners and Old Route 8 series and our River Proof series available only at the distillery.

Position Summary:

The Director of Distillery Operations will play a crucial leadership role in shaping the success of Augusta Distillery. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of distillery operations from production and quality control to staff management process development and strategic planning and execution. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in bourbon production a passion for innovation and the leadership skills necessary to build and manage a worldclass distillery team. This role is responsible for continuous improvement of distillery operations quality and efficiency.

Job Functions:

Distillery Production and Distribution Management:

o Oversee all aspects of bourbon production ensuring efficiency quality and consistency.

o Achieve all production goals for bottling operations distillation supply chain engineering new product development and barrel warehousing.

o Champion safety environmental stewardship inclusion and continuous improvement in all aspects of the business operations.

o Responsible for the operations budgets reporting and development of key KPIs

o Develop and implement production schedules and staffing. Ensures timely delivery of products to meet market demands.

o Oversee finished goods bottling and distribution.

Quality Control:

o Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the highest standards for our bourbons.

o Implement best practices to monitor and maintain the quality of raw materials production processes and finished products.

Procurement:

o Establish and maintain/oversee supplier relationships.

o Ensure proper reorder points and manage inventory levels for raw materials and supplies.

o Negotiate pricing with suppliers and ensure continuity of supply.

Engineering and Maintenance

o Oversee (directly and indirectly) facilities personnel to ensure proper planned maintenance and the smooth operation of the distillery.

o Create policies and procedures for our routine maintenance plans.

o Oversee engineering (internal or external) for any new capital investments and projects and ensure scope and cost are managed.

o Ensure all contractors on site are compliant with all applicable codes and standards for working in the distillery.

Team Leadership:

o Recruit train and lead a skilled distillery team.

o Foster a collaborative and positive work environment promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Regulatory Compliance:

o Stay abreast of federal state and local regulations related to bourbon production.

o Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations to maintain the distillerys integrity and reputation.

o Ensure compliance is built into the teams and their way of working.

Innovation and Process Improvement:

o Drive innovation in bourbon production processes exploring new techniques and technologies.

o Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency quality and sustainability.

Strategic Planning:

o Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the distillerys longterm strategic plan.

o Provide input on market trends competitive landscape and potential growth.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in bourbon distillery operations with a proven track record of success.

Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.

Indepth knowledge of bourbon production processes from grain selection to aging and bottling.

Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the distilling industry.

Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to think strategically about business challenges.

Proven leadership and management capabilities with the ability to effectively lead a manufacturing organization.

Selfstarter with the ability to anticipate needs and challenges.

Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast paced growing entrepreneurial environment.

Superb leadership and communication skills with a track record of building highperforming teams.

Strong professional presence and presentation skills.

Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.

Experience with the Whisky Systems platform preferred.
