Director IT Security Operations

We are seeking a Director of IT Security Operations to enhance our security posture and lead our security initiatives. This is a hybrid role in Pittsburgh, PA.

Position Summary: As the Director of IT Security Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping our enterprise security strategy. Reporting directly to the CTO/CISO, you will provide leadership and direction for all aspects of our security operations, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information assets.

Salary range: $140,000 to $160,000, to commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

-Provide guidance on the overall enterprise security posture to the CTO / CISO.

-Lead internal working groups for solutions architecture and change control, advising on security best practices.

-Implement and enforce security policies and operational objectives alongside administration and technical support staff.

-Drive proactive monitoring and reporting for system health, including patching, compliance, and performance metrics.

-Manage vulnerability remediation, incident handling, and coordinate with global resources.

-Collaborate with vendors to identify, vet, and implement new security solutions within operational and budgetary constraints.

-Identify and implement security orchestration and automation to enhance operational efficiency.

-Support and enforce global security controls through InfoSec-managed tools.

-Serve as an escalation point for security-related activities and manage transition plans for major system upgrades or patches.

-Evaluate and communicate security risks to diverse audiences and manage ongoing IT security operations.

Requirements:

-Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in an IT Security role, preferably securing critical information in a cloud-based environment (AWS/Azure).

-Experience with State and Federal Government contracting preferred.

-Strong diplomatic and customer-facing communication skills.

-Experience in a cloud-first technology organization.

-Ability to communicate effectively over text-based mediums and articulate a vision and -service roadmap.

-Familiarity with CISSP Domains, NIST frameworks, CIS benchmarks, OSI model, and other security standards.

-Proven experience in Incident Response and handling confidential information professionally.

-Strong written IT and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting technical issues to varied audiences.

-Knowledge of compliance and privacy regulations (PCI, GDPR, CCPA, SOX, etc.).

-Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide teams.

-Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CCSP) preferred.

-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
