Development Engineer (m/f/d) in MEMS Team

Your mission

At Blickfeld, we develop affordable and performant LiDAR solutions to pave the way for autonomous driving and enable industries to act on formerly unavailable information. The heart of our 3D LiDAR technology is a MEMS beam steering component, which scans a collimated laser beam across a wide field of view to generate high resolution point clouds. In the MEMS Team, we develop proprietary MEMS designs and combine them with state-of-the-art micro machining into our low-cost, mass producible beam steering unit. Join us as Development Engineer (m/f/d) and shape the next generation of our innovative products and production technologies!

Your tasks

• You design and build electro-optical measurement systems for our MEMS beam steering unit
• You develop assembly setups for our micro-assembly line
• You write software for our tools in Python (computer vision, digital signal processing, database interfaces, operator frontend)
• You develop, implement and evaluate testing methods to characterize our MEMS components
• You transfer technology from R&D stages to production environments
• Together, we implement new features and improvements into existing systems to keep them at pace with our development
• You design (DOE), perform, and evaluate (Minitab, Python) experiments to improve the reliability of our devices
• You collaborate closely with our optics, electronics, and software teams for integration

Your profile

• You have a degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or equivalent education
• Your software skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB) help you to write clean and maintainable code
• You have a hands-on mentality and a thorough, solution-oriented way of working
• You are a strong communicator in English (speaking and writing) and enjoy pitching in your own ideas
• Experience in hardware development (e.g. Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) is a plus
• Knowledge of MEMS design and fabrication processes is a plus
• Experience with component qualification for automotive and functional safety (ISO 26262) is a plus
