Description:
100% onsite as this is a sys admin/hands on role, racking stacking servers, swapping hardware, etc.
5+ years Linux experience is required and (Linux education can be counted as experience).
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
Experience with the following would be helpful (in order of priority)
Ansible
Cobbler
Asset management (GLPI)
Required skills/experience:
o Work independently
o Racking servers
o Cabling (organized/neat) - power, network, etc.
o Building servers via network (OS provisioning)
o Configuring servers using automation (ansible)
o IPMI/BMC configuration
o HW maintenance
Troubleshoot, root cause, & resolve
Monitor and proactively resolve issues
o OS troubleshooting & updates
o Decommissioning servers
o Asset Mgmt - ensure assets are properly maintained in asset DB system
Nice to have skills/experience:
o Networking
Configuring switches with instructions
OPA fabric
Ethernet (Extreme mostly)
o Scripting
Shell or python

Key responsibilities include performing general server administration tasks, monitoring and optimizing system performance and reliability, operational workflow development, and managing enhancements/upgrades and providing - various levels of support and including but not limited to the items below:
HW/Server landing (rack, wire, configure) within our FM2 lab
Installing and configuring Linux on the servers using our OS and configuration tools (cobbler and ansible)
Linux Administration and troubleshooting (CentOS and Ubuntu)
Asset management and maintenance (GLPI)
Use the JIRA ticket system for incidents and service requests from our internal customer groups
Communicate in slack, email, IM, JIRA, and phone with our internal customer groups for tickets
Could be responsible for performing OS upgrades/reinstalls on servers and would need to coordinate with users/owners of the respective servers
Comfortable reviewing and modifying BIOS, RAID, and BMC/IPMI settings
Troubleshooting and Maintenance activities like drive failure identification and replacement
Linux administration skills will be required
