Purpose of the job

This role will sit within the Technical Claims Team in the Insurance Division of the Collinson Group and will report to the Counter Fraud Manager. The jobholder will be responsible for the day-to-day analysis of suspected fraudulent claims. They will also assist the Counter Fraud Manager in detecting and combating Fraud across all areas of Insurance including but not limited to: Employee, Customer, Provider, and Third-Party Administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the mailbox dedicated to fraud referrals and queries, adhering to set response times, and recording relevant information.
  • Run daily reports on the Insurance Fraud Detection database, check for matches on GoTrex, CIFAS and IFR and update the claim for the claims operational team to action.
  • Utilise the IFR (Insurance Fraud Register) and CIFAS databases.
  • Manage the GEN-FRAUD workbook on GoTrex and respond to tasks and requests within the agreed timeframe.
  • Attend the weekly fraud clinics to respond to referrals and queries and ensure appropriate information is provided and documented accordingly.
  • Work closely and foster excellent relationships with all operational teams and other areas of the business including the account managers, legal, compliance, complaints, service delivery and finance.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of strategies for internal and external fraud detection and monitoring across all areas of the business including Claims, Broking, Underwriting and Finance.
  • Assist in the production and implementation of Fraud policies and procedures in line with industry best practice.
  • Assist the Counter Fraud Manager by providing advice and guidance to ensure that fraud awareness and detection are maximised throughout the insurance division.
  • Work with the Counter Fraud Manager to collate and compile MI demonstrating fraud trends and savings which can be provided to the Risk & Compliance Committee and Board.
  • Assist the Counter Fraud Manager as a contact point for insurers, loss adjusters, police and other external agencies in matters relating to fraud.
  • To monitor the effectiveness of key fraud controls.
  • To keep abreast of relevant fraud cases and industry developments and to disseminate intelligence to the business.
  • To assist the wider Risk & Compliance team in assessing the impact to Collinson Insurance Group of any regulatory changes relating to fraud implementing process and procedural changes where required.

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

  • UK based as jobholder will need to access third-party fraud databases including the IFR (Insurance Fraud Register) and CIFAS.
  • Experience in a travel claims environment.
  • Good knowledge of general insurance claims, particularly travel insurance.
  • Knowledge of Key Fraud Indicators (KFI s) in relation to insurance claims.
  • In-depth understanding of travel insurance schemes and policy wordings.
  • Team player.
